Turmeric Curcumin Dietary Supplement
Turmeric Curcumin is derived from the rhizomes (underground stems) of the Curcuma longa plant, a member of the ginger family. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric.
Turmeric Curcumin is a powerful anti-inflammatory compound, which can be very beneficial since it is now believed that chronic low-level inflammation plays a major role in most Western diseases, including heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s and various degenerative conditions. Curcumin targets multiple steps in the inflammatory pathway, as a bioactive substance that fights inflammation at the molecular level. It is also a strong antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals due to its chemical structure.
In addition to the above benefits, Turmeric Curcumin also helps to improve brain function by increasing Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor (BDNF), which is a type of growth hormone that functions in the brain. Many common brain disorders have been linked to decreased levels of this hormone, including depression and Alzheimer’s disease. Curcumin can increase brain levels of BDNF which may be effective at delaying or possibly reversing some brain diseases and age-related decreases in brain function.
